Dr.K.V.
Kuppusamy, an industrialist and philanthropist
from Sulur village of Coimbatore founded
and established RVS Educational Trust
(RVSET) in ever-loving memory of his late
son Rathinavel Subramanian (RVS) who attained
heavenly abode at a very tender age of
6. The Trust was registered in the year
1983 with the objective of creating educational
institutions to disseminate value based
education in a great disciplined manner
by inculcating enlightened, spiritual,
moral and ethical outlook in the minds
of rural students, resulting in character
development and making the students useful
and potential citizen of India.
The motto of the trust is “RURAL
UPLIFTMENT THROUGH VALUE BASED EDUCATION”.
In order to achieve this, RVSCET first
started RVS Polytechnic College at Dindigul
in the year 1984, Matriculation school
at Sulur and RVS College of Engineering
and Technology at Dindigul in 1985, RVS
Arts and Science College at Sulur in 1986,
Matriculation School at Chennai and ITI
at Sulur in 1990, Ayurveda College and
Nursing College at Sulur, and Womens college
at Chennai in 1993, Ayurveda College at
Chennai and RVS Physiotherapy College
at Sulur in 1999, Homeopathy College at
Sulur and Matriculation school at Tenkasi
in 2000, Arts and Science college at Pondicherry
in 2004 and Teachers Training College
in Pondicherry in 2005. In addition to
these educational institutions, the trust
has established RVS multi-speciality hospital
at Sulur in 2004.
Currently there are about 67 different
organizations including industrial, academic
and farming institutions under one umbrella.
Now the process is on to create a Medical
College and another Graduate Teacher Training
Institution at Dindigul. |
